Our FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How often do you meet?

Club run every Monday 6:00-7:00pm (excluding Bank Holidays). Social run / coffee morning 10:00am last Friday of each month.

How much does it cost?

You are welcome to attend a free taster session, then it is £4.00 per month which provides fully trained Run Leaders and club insurance.

What do I need to wear?

Trainers you are comfortable running in, sports clothing that allows freedom of movement and breathability, a sports bra for women.  Layers are sensible for colder conditions and high viz/personal lights are required for dark nights. Rain does not call off a run meet so you may wish to wear a light, breathable, shower resistant outer layer.

Club logo clothing is available to buy however, once you have paid 3 months dues you receive a free club t-shirt.

Are there changing rooms?

No, we meet outside the Arboretum’s Visitors’ Centre (what 3 words: pens.global.foods) so you need to arrive in your running gear. There is nowhere to leave bags/coats, so travel light. We have access to toilet facilities.

Do I need to bring a drink?

No, you should ensure you are sufficiently hydrated to comfortably exercise for an hour.

Is there parking?

Yes, there is plenty of street parking nearby.

Do I need to be a runner to join?

No, our groups cater for all ability levels, from absolute beginners to 10kers!

Will I have to run for an hour?

No, each group has tailored running activities with breathing breaks as necessary to suit the goals/abilities of its members.

What if I can’t keep up/hold others back?

WARC has a ‘no-one left behind’ policy; members are mutually supportive, understanding and encouraging.

What if I have specific support needs?

The club has strategies in place to meet the needs of more vulnerable members, but each members needs would need to be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us to discuss your requirements before joining

What if I can’t make a session?

You will be missed! But there is no penalty or reduction in fees.

Can I run with my child in a pushchair?
